The Alaska Medical Assistant Society serves as a professional organization dedicated to the education and professionalism of Medical Assistants striving for continued growth and career advancement. It is affiliated with the national organization of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
The Alaska State Medical Assistant Society has one local chapter in Anchorage and members-at-large throughout the state of Alaska, with approximately 200 members state-wide. What is a Medical Assistant?
A Medical Assistant is a multi-skilled allied health care professional trained to perform administrative and/or clinical duties in an ambulatory or immediate care setting under the supervision of a licensed health care practitioner.
